2020 was one heck of a rocky year but we are determined to make 2021 as stress free as possible! Easier said than done, but we think you can do it! With many Australians still adjusting to changed working conditions, or at least a day or two working from home, these tips are sure to help you maintain a positive and motivated mindset!
We are here to support you and fellow Australian businesses by sharing our favourite ways to de-stress and make 2021 your year!
Step 1, be mindful and chill out
Begin your day with 10 minutes of mindfulness and meditation. This will help you clear your mind and set your focus for the day.
Beginner’s don’t fear, when it comes to meditation there is plenty of help available. All it takes is a quick search on your phone's app store. Our favourite meditation app at the moment is Bloom App, by fellow Aussie wellness warriors Chloe Szep and Molly Jane. We hear they also do a free 30-day trial, so what are you waiting for?
You've heard it before and you'll hear it again - Yoga!
You're probably thinking “how could I possibly go to yoga class when the gyms are all closed?” Luckily for you Elle from @elle_fit, has developed stretching guides which are available as e-book downloads or posters! A healthy investment well worth it at only $19 for an e-guide!
Step 2, organise your thoughts and surroundings
Before you begin your working day, write a to-do list
We don’t mean fill up every inch of a page with a million things to do, that will just stress you out even more! Rather, write down your top 3 priorities for the day and narrow your focus to those! We think Australian designer, Jasmine Dowling, has nailed this with her perfectly designed notepad to help get your priorities in order!
Organise your space and separate ‘work’ and ‘chill’
Working from home can be a blessing and a curse. Before you know it, your bed is your desk and you can’t switch out of ‘work mode’ as it’s in the very spot where you sleep! The first step is to find a work spot outside of your bedroom area. Neaten up your desk, or dining room table, and remove all unnecessary items so there’s a clear space around you with no distractions.
The second step is to implement after work rituals which help your body realise it’s time to relax. A great way to do this is by adding some calming essential oils to a diffuser. Try the Relax Pure Essential Oil Blend by In Essence, an Australian made and owned essential oil brand. If you’re really into essential oils, they also have a Motivate blend, which is perfect to use whilst you’re working!
Step 3, let your creativity flow
Your don't have to be an artist to get creative in the kitchen and if you have extra time on your hands from reduced travel, why not spend it creating something delicious for the whole family? Try our Alkaline Au Naturel Protein in this awesome banana bread recipe! Or if you’re impatient, like us, and don't want to wait for the oven, give these No Bake Cookie Dough Bars - you won’t regret it!
